Starting in the front, going counter-clockwise
to the south side. Can't you just picture a weeping cherry tree in
that spot? The side yard will be perfect for some foundation shrubs.

This is the view of the backyard from near the
swing sets. I want the view to be nice from both of its primary
angles: sitting on the patio but also from the top of the wall. I am
also trying to visualize how the areas above the wall will look, when I'm
sitting on the patio.
From the patio, I picture myself in a
comfortable chair, a caffeine-free Diet Coke in my hand, and I want to see
daylilies somewhere, an ornamental flowering tree. Lilal--definitely
lilac. Lavender, too. Flowers I can cut.
The transition of once-grass back to grass isn't clear cut
as I thought it might be.
The put seeds and then some pods to keep birds from eating them.
We're getting quite a bit of moisture--leading to excessive standing water
in the back yard
